Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 8, 2026  Β·  Last updated: August 8, 2026

This policy is published by BoroughTech LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Connecticut limited liability company, for the Learn with Kit mobile application (the "App") and this website. Contact: support@boroughtech.com Β· 18 Pumpkin Hill Rd, Trumbull, CT 06611-1619, United States.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We designed Learn with Kit to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation as it applies to children (GDPR-K), the UK Age-Appropriate Design Code, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). The simplest way we comply is by not collecting personal information.

Specifically, the App does not collect:

The App also does not:

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following on your device only β€” it never leaves your device:

This data is not personal information under COPPA because it is not linked to any persistent identifier and is not transmitted to us or to any third party.

3. iCloud Sync

We are planning an optional iCloud sync feature so progress can follow you across your own devices, stored in your own iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit service. This feature is not yet available in the current version of the app. When it ships, it will be off by default, and this policy will be updated to describe it before it is enabled for any user. Once available, Apple's privacy policy will apply to that storage; we will not have access to your iCloud account or its contents.

4. Purchases

Learn with Kit is free to download. The app may offer optional one-time in-app purchases to unlock additional lesson packs or content. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using standard StoreKit APIs. We do not receive or store your name, email, credit-card number, or billing address. Any purchase flow accessible to a child is protected by the parental gate described below.

5. Parental Controls and the Parental Gate

Any function in Learn with Kit that (a) links to an external website, (b) permits an in-app purchase, or (c) sends or receives data outside the child's normal use is protected by a parental gate β€” a challenge intended to be answerable only by an adult β€” in compliance with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines for kids apps.

Parents may reset the child's progress or delete the app at any time. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Notice to Parents)

Learn with Kit is designed for children ages 2 to 13 and is operated under the requirements of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Under COPPA, operators of child-directed services must give parents notice of, and obtain verifiable parental consent for, the collection of personal information from children. Because Learn with Kit does not collect any personal information from children (see Section 1), no such consent is required. If our practices ever change, we will update this policy and obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting anything.

As a parent or guardian you have the right to review, request deletion of, and refuse further collection of your child's personal information. Because we hold none, there is nothing to review or delete β€” but if you believe your child has somehow provided personal information through our app despite our design (for example, through a bug we do not know about), email us at support@boroughtech.com and we will investigate and delete any such data. We will respond within 30 days.

7. International Users β€” GDPR-K, UK AADC, and Equivalents

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another region with children-focused data protection laws, the same principle applies: we do not process personal data of children (or adults) through Learn with Kit. You have the right under GDPR, UK GDPR, and similar regimes to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. Because we hold none, there is nothing to access, correct, delete, or port. If you believe we are processing your data in error, contact support@boroughtech.com.

8. California Residents β€” CCPA/CPRA

Because we do not collect personal information from any user, the consumer rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act are not triggered. We do not sell, share, or use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If our practices change, this policy will be updated at least 30 days before any change.

9. Data Retention and Security

Because no data is transmitted off-device, we retain no personal data on any server. Data stored locally on your device is retained until you delete the app or clear its data through iOS Settings, and is protected by your device's own security (passcode / Face ID / Touch ID).

10. This Website

This website is a static informational site. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Fonts are delivered by Google Fonts for display purposes only. If you email us, we retain the correspondence only as long as needed to respond, and no longer than 24 months.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app or in applicable law. If we make a material change that expands what data is collected or how it is used, we will update the date at the top of this page, prominently notify users in the app before the change takes effect, and, where required by law, obtain fresh verifiable parental consent first.
